Webinar: Career Management for Wharton Alumni

Job Search Best Practices in Today's Marketplace - Wharton Undergraduate Degree Alumni Only

Being that the Wharton School wants to do all it can to assist alumni during these uncertain economic times, the School is proud to offer two sessions of this webinar, focusing on both undergraduate and MBA alumni.  The Wharton Club of NJ is sponsoring this live event, and the Wharton Club of Maryland has coordinated with WCNJ to participate.

Presented by Penn Career Services, Wharton undergraduate advisors Barbara Hewitt and David Ross will provide an overview of the ways in which the Career Services Office at Penn can assist undergraduate alumni in achieving their career goals.  The presenters will also give an update on what they are currently seeing in the job market as well as provide specific tips on job hunting in a difficult economy.  In addition, Ms. Hewitt and Mr. Ross will provide information on how Wharton undergraduate alumni can stay connected with Penn through posting jobs and internships, participating in PACNet (our alumni mentoring program), or serving as an Externship host.  There will also be time at the end of the webinar for questions from the audience.

PENN CAREER SERVICES provides comprehensive career services to all undergraduate students and alumni at the University, as well as graduate students from 9 schools at Penn.  We help students and alumni define and achieve their career goals.  The office is also responsible for articulating the strength of a Penn education to employers and graduate and professional school representatives who seek to attract our students and alumni.  For more info, click here.

BARBARA HEWITT, Senior Associate Director, Wharton Alumni Career Services, first joined the Career Services office at Penn in 1998 as a career counselor working with students in the College of Arts and Sciences and in 2000 became Senior Associate Director working with Wharton undergraduate students and alumni.  In addition to working with students, she also supervises the on-campus recruiting program at Penn.  Prior to joining the Penn Career Services team she worked for two years in career services at the College of Wooster  and for five years in career services at Dickinson College.  Ms. Hewitt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Dickinson College, an MS in Counseling from Shippensburg University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania.

DAVID ROSS, Associate Director, Wharton Alumni Career Services, has devoted the majority of his professional career to career services, including serving as a member of the employer relations team at the MBA Career Management office at Georgetown University and work in employer relations at the Toppel Career Center at the University of Miami.  Mr. Ross holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Higher Education Management from Penn, and a Certificate in Human Resource Management from The Wharton School at Penn.
